Global warming 

My topic is about the "Global warming". This work of art shows the causes and effects of global warming. The reason I picked this topic because Climate change is the greatest humanitarian crisis of our time, responsible for rising seas, raging storms, searing heat, ferocious fires, severe drought, and punishing floods. It threatens our health, communities, and economy... etc. and also engendered species are in danger of extinction. Therefore, I chose this topic to show repercussion of global warming. The "Earth" is our home and It is our duties and responsibilities to save from this crisis. However, some greedy people are destroying our home to earn some money without knowing the repercussions and small island country like Kiribati is vanishing from the earth due to higher sea level. According to the climatehotmap.org ", from 1993 to 2003 the average rate of sea-level rise increased to around 0.12 inches (3.1 millimeters) per year. It continuously occurs and still we did not anything to prevent this kind of disaster, it can turn into one major disaster in the world and one day not only Kiribati, all sea coastline countries  will be in a danger.  

My artwork shows the impact of global warming and it gives an idea to people/countries to take action against this crisis before it’s too late. This is the drawing of statue of liberty her full body is under water, except her hand with the torch and head. The medium of this drawing are pencil colors, Sharpie, number two pencil, and a sheet of paper. It would be display at time square on the red stairs because many people from around the world come there to visit. So, the people would see the drawing and realize that it is not only one country's issue it is a global issue. This monument is dedicate for all the people around the world/countries to aware about the consequences of climate change.
