BP#4

I found this picture in online. This is a huge statue of Lord Ganesh. In south Asia, people worship him as a God. He is the most worshipped deities in the Hindu religion. He is the son of "Destroyer" Lord Shiva. He is different from any other gods in the Hindu religion because he had an elephant head. At the very little age, he had killed may devils and had saved the earth from the devil, therefore, People celebrate an annual festival honors Ganesha for ten days, starting on Ganesha Chaturthi, which typically falls in late August or early September. The festival begins with people bringing in the statue, photo, clay idols of Ganesh. On the very last day of the festival, Ganesha statue immersed in the water. I believe this is idealistic because no one knows how does he really look like and no humans can have an elephant's head with on body. The statue of Ganesh is representational to me because the artist had tried to make Ganesh like a real person even though he is a God therefore, I would say this is realistic because The statue has clothes, hands, feet everything that makes actual reference to humans.  "The camera relieves us of the burden of memory. It surveys us like God, and it surveys for us. Yet no other god has been so cynical, for the camera records in order to forget" said John Berger. This means people believes in what they see and what they hear. Even though It could be totally lies or facts.
